Registering as an GSVP member involves:
We ask for your birthdate to ensure that all of our members are over 18. Your email address is needed for us to keep in contact with you, and so that you can be in contact with other GSVP members.
Your GSVP-name is the name that appears on your profile to other members.
You can change your registration details at any time.
The main elements of your profile are:
Your profile is the key to success on GSVP, so spend some time writing it and making it great. Click here for some tips on how to write a winning profile.
To update any part of your profile, log on to GSVP, and from the "My Profile" section, select the "Update Profile" tab.
You can also select to have your profile visible to other GSVP members only or hide your profile at any time. Hiding your profile means you will be hidden from any searches other members and guests conduct. This can be useful if you’re already corresponding with someone and don’t wish to be contacted by anyone new.
To check whether your profile is displayed or hidden, or to change status, click on "Settings" in the "My Home" section.
Frozen profiles occur when members include unacceptable information in their profiles. Unacceptable information includes:
When GSVP terms and conditions have been breached by the inclusion of such information in a profile, GSVP may freeze that profile, suspend it or terminate the related account at its discretion.
If your profile is frozen, you can no longer make updates to your profile and you will need to contact Customer Service to have your profile unfrozen.
While your profile is frozen you are still able to send and receive GSVP Kisses and emails.
Your photo will help you get noticed. Adding a photo to your profile increases the amount of contact by up to 10 times. Even if your photo is hidden behind a password, it still typically doubles the number of contacts you receive.
Please only send real photos of yourself; cartoons, illustrations or graphics are not accepted. GSVP recommends a photo of you on your own and no other people, especially no children, for privacy reasons.
We reserve the right to modify the photo as necessary and make no guarantees for the results, but obviously it’s in our best interests as well as yours to present your photo as well as possible.
Upload to GSVP (we check it before posting).
Log onto GSVP, click the "My Profile" section, click on the "My Photo" tab and click on "To upload your photo please click here";
If you don’t want everyone who visits GSVP to see your photo, you can password-protect it. You set the password and you control who you give the password to. Even with a password protected photo, statistics show you still get more contact.
To password-protect your photo, follow these instructions:
GSVP allows members to upload adult photos of themselves onto the site. However, there are rules relating to these images which must be strictly followed, as GSVP operates in countries with very different social norms.
You can opt to view these images (or not) on the GSVP site by clicking on the Settings tab at the top of the My Home page and selecting to view or not adult images. You decide.
There are a number of ways you can choose to view member profiles, depending on how specific your requirements are.
Browse enables you to very quickly see member profiles of a particular gender, in a particular location and age range. Please note that Browse generates once every 24 hours, so changes to a profile may take a little time to show up in Browse.
If you know the GSVP-name of the person you are interested in (eg they have sent you an introductory email and you’re interested in viewing their profile), you can enter it when you click on the "GSVP-name" tab located in the Search section). If you’ve entered a valid GSVP-name, you’ll be taken to that member’s full profile. (If that member has hidden their profile, it will not appear.)
This is the fastest way to find people on GSVP. You only need to select the gender, age range and location that suits you. You can also choose to view profiles which contain photos, video profiles or audio profiles only. The number of results will depend on the criteria you specify, but the Quick Search will usually give you a large number of results.
The Full Search allows you to be quite specific about the types of people you’re looking for. For example, you can specify personal characteristics such as height, body type and, hair and eye colours. If you don’t get many matches, it may be that you’ve been a bit too specific in your criteria!
If you have set up your ideal partner profile, and you are logged on, the Full Search screen will automatically fill in the details of your ideal partner ready for you to start searching. Of course, you can change any or all of these details if you wish.
Like the Full Search, the Two-Way Search lets you specify a range of search criteria. However, it also checks each match it finds against your profile, to ensure that you suit them. For example, if you are 28 years old and looking for someone between 25 and 30, and the search finds someone who is 27 but who is looking for someone over 30, a Full Search would return this person’s details to you, but a Two-Way Search would not (because you are too young for them).
If you have set up your ideal partner profile, and you are logged on, the Two-Way Search screen will automatically fill in the details of your ideal partner ready for you to start searching. Of course you can change any or all of these details if you wish.
If you like the Two-Way Search results you achieve, you may also want to set up Cupid so that future matches are conveniently delivered to your inbox by email.
The Top 100 lists show GSVP’s most wanted members. The lists are refreshed every day. To be included, profiles must satisfy certain criteria such as;
If you want to be eligible for inclusion in the Top 100, simply log on and from the "My Home" section, select the "Settings" tab and change your user preferences.
The GSVP Cupid function makes it even easier to find suitable new people for you to meet.
GSVP’s Cupid is an email service that automatically checks all members’ profiles to see if someone matches your ideal partner. Cupid does this by comparing member profiles against your Ideal Partner Profile. Cupid then advises you of any potential matches quickly and conveniently via email.
To check or change your Cupid settings, log on to GSVP, from the "My Home" section, select the "Settings" tab and change your Cupid preferences.
Once you’ve found someone interesting, you can contact them in various ways.
An GSVP Kiss is a short form message you can send to another member to let them know that you’re interested. You can also select one of our standard messages to be sent with the Kiss. The Kiss includes a link to your profile so the other member can find out about you. It also includes auto-replies so they can respond to you indicating their level of interest.
If you have a password-protected photo, photo gallery, audio file, or video file, you can include any of these passwords with the Kiss.
If you have found someone you really want to communicate with, you can send an GSVP anonymous email.
You cannot include personal information in your GSVP profile, but you can include any details you like in an GSVP email, including your personal email address, instant messaging ID (such as MSN address or ICQ number) or mobile phone number.
See the Instant messaging section for information about online chat.
GSVP is fully integrated with Skype enabling users to contact other members using Skype. Both members must have Skype accounts, the Skype feature turned on in their GSVP settings and their Skype username entered into the GSVP system.
GSVP helps you to keep track of your contacts through the "My Contacts" section. You can:

This lists member profiles that you have chosen as your favourites, to help you find their profiles again easily and quickly. From this list you can:
You can block a member from viewing your profile or contacting you. You can block a member when reading an email or kiss, during a chat session or from the My Favourites page.
The blocked member will still appear when you search the site, but if they search the site, your profile will not appear to them.
The My Blocked page lists members that you have decided to block from further contact. You can:
Before you start you will need to enable pop ups from this site. Some browser plug-ins can block pop-ups.
Enable Instant Messaging if necessary (see next section).
You will know the procedure has completed successfully and you are online by going to your View Profile page. Next to your GSVP-name you should see the online icon.
You can Enable and Disable Instant Messaging at any time by going to the Settings page from "My Home". If you disable Instant Messaging, all Instant Messaging sessions will close.
Most people now have their setting for Instant Messaging set to enabled. You can check your setting, and if necessary enable Instant Messaging by:
If you chose to disable Instant Messaging, you can do that by
If you have any problem with this procedure, please send a mail to support@ gsvp.com
You may need to have a current subscription to initiate a chat session (depending on your location).
Not everyone has enabled the instant messaging setting on their profile and therefore there will be members that won’t be ready to instant message with you. Also, you can only instant message with members who are currently online and are waiting to instant message therefore you will need to know how to identify them.
When conducting a Search you can specify it to only include members that are able and/or available for instant message. Make sure to adjust the search accordingly under the heading Available For Instant Messaging.
When viewing a particular profile you can see if they are chat enabled by looking at the top left of their profile page. Next to their GSVP-name there will be a instant messaging icon that will indicate the status of the profile. You can put your mouse over the icon to display a message tag that will describe the meaning of the icon.

The GSVP Friends feature provides the functionality for members to create networks of friends and to communicate with these friends exclusively.
Friends can be invited to join from outside the GSVP network or by linking profiles with existing GSVP members.
Once the invitation has been accepted, your profile and your friend’s profile are linked and a link appears to your friend’s profile on your main profile page.
To manage your friends, you can click on "My Friends" at left where you can accept or reject invitations, invite new friends and delete existing friends if you so wish.
Inviting new membersTo invite new friends click on "My Friends" at left.
You can send an invitation to your friends by downloading your webmail address book and selecting the members you wish to invite or by simply typing in their email address. An email will automatically be sent to your friend inviting you them to join GSVP.
Once they have completed their registration your profiles will be automatically linked through a link on each profile.
You can request a friends link with existing members of GSVP by clicking on the Request friend link button on their profile page.
The request will be sent to the GSVP member. If they accept the request your profiles will be linked and a link will appear on both of your profile pages. If the request is not accepted, your profiles will not be linked.
To enable GSVP to grow and create an ever larger community of members we need the financial support of our members. To develop and manage the GSVP service in 14 languages around the world costs money and this can only be paid for through the charging of a small subscription.
All members of GSVP can opt for Limited Free Membership. Limited Free Members can send 3 emails each week, but to do so the Limited Free member must upload a primary photo into their profile. Several other features of GSVP are available to Limited Free members, but unlimited contact and the full range of features is only available to subscribers.
Subscribers to GSVP (or Paid Members) are what we refer to “Gold Members” on the site. These are the members who actively support GSVP by paying for membership. These members have full use of all of GSVP’s functionality, unlimited contacts and full access to email and live customer service support.
